What is GIRL POWER??

DEAR MEN,

An amazing woman once said, "Some leaders are born women" and then she dropped the mic.

Sincerely,
Sandra Ware

FEMINIST QUIZ

1)  Should you insult a girl with low self-esteem?

A. Yes, she hates herself anyway so what's the big deal.
B. Sometimes, maybe it will do some good for her.
C. Not at all, that shit is not cute.

2.)  Is it ever alright to blame a girl for being raped?

A. Definitely, she shouldn't of been wearing those tight fitted clothes.
B. Sometimes, like it can't always be the rapist's fault right?
C. HELL NO

3.) Are gender fluid people confused?

A. Yes, they can't even decide what gender to be - the decision was already made for them at birth!
B. Maybe. Someday they want to be a girl, sometimes they're a boy, it's just so confusing!
C. Not all all, let them live please

4.) Should you slut-shame a girl even if she does have sex with a lot of guys?

A. Duh, that's exactly what a slut is.
B. I guess...like why would she act that way if she didn't want to be called a slut?
C. Never. A girl's sexually drive does not need to be attacked and scrutinized, especially since male sex drives don't receive similar judgement. Her body, her business.

5.) Does being a feminist mean that you hate all men?

A. YASSS, GIRL POWER!!!
B. Kind of because men in general are the ones who oppress us.
C. Nope. Feminist believe in equality for men and women and we love all who believe in equality too.

BONUS Can men be feminist?

A. Naw, the word implies that you have to be female.
B. Eh, I don't think so but it could be true.
C. Damn right it's true! You don't have to be a female to advocate for women and gender equality.

ANSWERS:

If you guessed "C" for all of the above, than you are one smart cookie and are already on your way to making this world a better place.

If you said anything other than C...
Then you still have a lot to learn and should probably practice being more knowledgeable and less ignorant.

LETS GIVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO PAST THIS TEST!!!

I hoped you learned something, but most importantly, I hope you teach something to those who still don't know about these kind of things.

So proud of you of what you've been able to learn so far through these blogs, keep being amazing and outspoken against all this hate, intolerance and injustice in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feel free to keep the conversation going, I'll be waiting to hear it.

Planned Parenthood

DEAR MEN,

It's funny how some of you are quick to criticize girls who take birth control pills but...

Sincerely,
Sandra Ware

SO THEY DE-FUNDED PLANNED PARENTHOOD.

THEY (MEN) DE-FUNDED (Took away money for) PLANNED PARENTHOOD (A safe way for women to abort their children)

Displaying IMG_4555.PNG
Displaying IMG_4555.PNG

THEY WHO HAVE NO VAGINAS AND DON'T HAVE A CLUE OF HALF THE SHIT THE FEMALE BODY GOES THROUGH, DECIDED TO GET RID OF SOMETHING THAT PREVENTED THE DEATH OF MILLIONS OF WOMEN A YEAR...

I just broke that down in extreme detail and still don't understand it myself.

No that's ridiculous!

BUT DON'T WORRY AMERICA! GUNS ARE STILL REGULATED SO YOU CAN KILL MORE PEOPLE AFTER THEY ARE BORN!!!

Literally.

They keep guns in circulation everywhere, like it won't be too long before you can buy soap, deodorant, toothpaste and a gun at CVS.

OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH, and speaking of protecting the future children. They might as well put real guns on stock instead of the plastic ones. Most children often get their hands on a real gun anyway because there is one left within their reach at home.

but God forbid we give women the freedom over their own bodies and possibly prevent a child from being put in extremely dangerous conditions.

That's even worse than losing 20 kids at one time.

This is yet another achievement that will go down in the great American textbooks.

The next chapter should be interesting...

Got Hair? Don't Care

DEAR MEN,

If body hair on a woman bothers you, then don't look at it. We all went through puberty, so it shouldn't be such a surprise to discover a female with hair everywhere.

Just shut up and be grateful that you don't bleed from your crotch every month.

Sincerely,
Sandra Ware

It's extremely irritating to inhale such ignorance on a daily basis and extremely bad for your health. It's one thing not to like something, it's another thing to say that it is completely wrong.

Um...Question.

Tell me, when did women having body hair make them less of a woman?

Since when was womanhood evaluated by the lack of body hair you have?

Why is it taboo not to shave/ remove body hair?

Why do people put so much emphasis on being bald everywhere?

Why do people care about what people do with their own bodies?

Why did the Christopher Columbus have to sail the ocean blue in 1492?

Why is the sky blue?

And other concerns...

Anyway, I recently had to idea to make this quick little post because of a little story that got more attention than it needed to on social media.

SO MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ, one of the most notable bad-ass women in action film history is loved and admired by men and women. Some call her a tomboy but she overall just liked to be herself. Sometimes you'll see her in a fancy dress, other times you'll see her in basketball shorts.

She has made it clear on multiple occasions that she doesn't care what people think about her. That's
why she wouldn't hesitate to go without shaving for a while and be seen with body hair in public. What seemed like just another awesome day in the life of M.R suddenly turned into a giant debate over whether women should keep their bodies hairless or cover up in public.

REALLY?

No, REALLY???

This woman does amazing things on a daily basis and you want to say that her value depends on whether she has hair underneath her arms?

REALLLLYYYYY???????

Well she's not the only celeb who doesn't care if shows a little hair.

Oh, what's good Miley?

Julia Roberts is still a Pretty Woman whether or not she shaves.

Mo'nique can still rock a stage even with hairy legs.

It's already sad enough that the beauty standard of this country does not represent a majority of women and girls, but on top of that, they have to face ridicule for looking like...a human?

A LIST OF THINGS TO STOP DOING:
1. Telling women what to do with their bodies
2. Telling women what to do with their bodies
3. Telling women what to do with their bodies
4. See #1-3

There is a real maturity in being able to see the real beauty of a woman's body beyond her appearance, not many people have it obviously.

On that note, I'm going to leave you with some stunning portraits taken by Ben Hooper who started a photography series in London called "Natural Beauty." He took photos of a group of models and actresses, highlighting their unshaven armpits. The images play on the fact that body hair has been stigmatized here in the U.S and abroad and that most women are overly conscious to been seen in public with even the tiniest bit of body hair showing.

It compares and contrasts fashionable female people with raw and unconventional female beauty. The point was not to make a statement about what women should and should not do with their body hair. He mentioned that this campaign was not to get more women to leave that hair on their bodies but to overall have more people be open minded to various perceptions of beauty in the many forms it comes in. He encourage people to question the current beauty standards and not to dismiss what isn't typically seen as attractive or beautiful.

To shave or not to shave... that is the question.

The answer is to do whatever feels right to you.

The CONSENT Game

DEAR MEN,

Imagine if you were as disgusted with rape as you are with periods.

Sincerely,
Sandra Ware

Greetings and Salutations, (Reference to the 80s movie Heathers, if you haven't seen it- but it on you're movie bucket list. Everyone has one.)

A lot of this blog is about promoting awareness because there is a strong since that people aren't aware of certain things, and even if they are, they have no idea how those certain things might effect people other than themselves.

Before we get to far ahead, I would like to issue a TRIGGER WARNING.

For those who aren't 100% sure of what exactly that means, let me just entail that a trigger warning lets people know when you are about to talk about something that might bring up trauma for them.

I issued this trigger warning today because the topic I want to unfold on this wall focuses on rape and rape culture...

In my previous blogs I mentioned some things that will connect to this like the fact that it doesn't matter what a girl is wearing, that should never be an excuse for harassing her, and the fact that males can be sexually assaulted to and shouldn't be shunned when they want to speak out on it.

I generally don't understand why it is so hard for people to put the blame on rapists; if it wasn't for them, the rape would of never happened.

We live in a society where you are supposedly innocent until proven guilty but it's time to acknowledge when people weren't innocent to begin with.

Being sexually assaulted is not something that comes up easy in conversation, but it helps to talk about it. It not only will help the person move on with their life but it will also draw more attention to the problem and hopefully help lead to possible solutions.

I don't know how but some people get confused when it comes to classifying rape. Like...what?
One way you identify a rape is the fact that there was no consent established before the incident occurred.

The word of the day is NO.

If you hear it, that means...

Honestly, what is so difficult about that?

In general, people view rapist as old men with strange clothes and glasses but...

(Rapist/ Murderer from the movie The Lovely Bones, also put it on your movie bucket list.)

Rapist can be women too!

In any event, rape is the most escalated form of sexual harassment and can happen to anybody at anytime.

There is no such thing as...
-Being too UGLY to be raped
-Being too OLD to be raped
-Being too STRONG to be raped.

No.

This whole tragic event can occur when someone is really bad at playing what is known as "the consent game" which is fairly simple. The only objective is the get the person you want to have intercourse with to say yes before you start the act, if that doesn't happen, than guess what - YOU LOSE.

Let's talk about SEX - uality!

DEAR MEN,

Stop losing your shit every time you are rejected by a girl. And stop assuming that if she doesn't like you, she's probably a lesbian. She might be gay, or she just might not be into assholes.

Sincerely,
Sandra Ware

Hello again.

By this point you have probably realized that my blogs are more towards open minded and less in favor of...

*cough* ignorance *cough*

~Excuse me, I have a cold even when I'm typing.

Anyway - Today's lesson is about SEXUALITY.

Now, let me just get something out of the way first:

Okay, we can begin to dive into this pool. I hope you bought your feminist googles with you.

Correction, sexuality as a whole isn't exactly a pool. It's more like a freaking ocean. Sexuality is like a vast sea with a million type of creatures living underneath it. There is more to sexual preferences than being straight, gay or bi. Allow me to expand those horizons for you. Also keep in mind that there are a lot so I won't be able to elaborate on all of them, and some of them might sound similar, but trust me there's always a slight difference.

Without further ado here is the 411 with sexuality...

You can be asexual and not like anybody.

You can be pan-sexual and like basically everybody.

You can be demisexual and only be into people who've you developed a previous bond with. It doesn't necessarily have to be a romantic one.

You can also be lithromantic which means you like to fall in love with with people but you don't want them to fall in love with you.

You can even be skoliosexual. Which means your type are people who don't like to identify with any gender.

There's probably like a thousand more where those came from. But at the end of the day, those are labels. Identify yourself however you want, don't let anyone or society make that decision for you. As long as you’re happy, that's all that should matter.
